Luis has shaped the design and implementation of complex supply chain strategies within the CPG and Retail industry for over 15 years in Canada, being recognized for maintaining a strong customer focus and building agile and resilient networks to drive competitive advantages for the business.
Luis transitioned to the Retail industry as Vice President Integrated Supply Chain at Sobeys in 2020 leading the National Supply Chain Strategy. He delivered over $25M in savings by launching the largest inbound transportation RFP in the history of the company, enhancing their inbound freight program, digitizing their transportation and centralizing their supply chain operations.
Luis previously served as member of the Executive Leadership Team at Gay Lea Foods where he led end-to-end Supply Chain, managing procurement, production and demand planning, plant scheduling, customer service, transportation and warehousing. In this VP role he spearheaded best in class operational excellence, designing and executing strategies to digitize the operations, building network strategies, and implementing RFPs and Co-purchasing agreements.
Prior to joining Gay Lea Foods, Luis worked for 6 years in a number of senior level roles within the Supply Chain team at PepsiCo Foods (Canada), recognized as the "Top Operations Manager" for leading the change plan to increase performance in one of the largest Distribution Centers. He also trained and developed people as a Continuous Improvement Master Trainer.
Luis holds a Bachelor of Production Engineering degree from Simon Bolivar University (Caracas, Venezuela) and an MBA from York University (Toronto, Canada).
