James brings over 25 years of experience in operations, continuous improvement, and business transformation from leading firms including Thomson Publishing, Quad Graphics, General Electric and Royal Philips.
His continuous improvement journey began in the mid 1990’s with training and certification in Joseph Juran’s Continuous Quality Improvement methodology while working with a major health system in the Capital Region of New York.
In the ensuing years, James has had the opportunity to be a key part of numerous Lean Six Sigma Deployments, from greenfield start-ups to turnarounds of stalled continuous improvement initiatives. He has achieved significant business results in numerous industries and functional areas: sales & marketing, manufacturing & supply chain, software & product development, and transactional service delivery, achieving over $300 Million in business impact.
In his most recent corporate role with Royal Philips, he headed Business Operations for the Lifeline business unit, leading a critical organizational transformation to Software as a Service (SaaS) business model including digital-first, scalable processes replacing entrenched, legacy ways of working through a first of a kind Digital Boot Camp.
James earned his BA in Philosophy and MBA in Finance from the University at Albany. He is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Master Black Belt, Lean Six Sigma Trainer, with additional certifications in Root Cause Analysis, Change Leadership, Marketing Excellence and Scaled Agile/Scrum.
