Abdul brings with him 20 years of operational experience with extensive work in the automotive, telecommunication, and pharma industries. Abdul has a unique background of combining expert depth in Six Sigma, Lean, Change Management and leadership coaching, which has enabled him to lead organizations in building operational excellence programs from the grounds up. It also has allowed him to effectively lead c-suite level leaders to influence the way continuous improvement programs are designed, and deployed to maximize value for the organizations. Most recently, Abdul was the Executive Director of OpEx and PMO at Bristol Myers Squibb. Prior to that, he spent close to 10 years at Merck as Director of Merck Production System (MPS). Under his leadership at Merck, his teams delivered significant business value such as: Enabling $200MM in additional revenue through significant improvement in capacity utilization, $201MM inventory reduction through improved new supply chain design, $22.6MM cost savings through improved shop floor execution and improved management system.
Abdul started his career at Tyco International as part of the Leadership Development Program. He then went on to Lear where he was the Continuous Improvement Regional Leader in North America. He then spent time working at Nortel Networks as North America Master Black Belt. Abdul then joined Merck in 2009, working to bring the rigor of Toyota Production System to the pharma industry, working and learning closely from Toyota Sensei’s.
Abdul holds a Bachelor in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University. He holds certifications as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Lean Master, Toyota Production System Sensei, and Change Execution Methodology change agent (CEM).
